Re-building Communities 2000 and now – a time to revisit old ideas?

Back in 2000 Ross Nepia Himona expressed optimism about the Flaxroots Technology conference in Wellington as the beginning of a movement to claim Internet for the community. He argued there is a need to build a strong society in which communities matter and have a voice and that technology can help us do this.

The now worthy tree – some connections

In an article in the St Albans community paper STANN, it was stated: “this amazing achievement will be remembered by St Albans people as a sign that they have again become an identifiable community - a community with enough hope and fortitude to dare to try and change things for the better.”
